STAFFORD — A Stafford man was arrested Wednesday on charges releated to sex with a teenager.
Marco Antonio Martinez Mejia, 34, of 71 Bells Hill Road, was charged with four counts of carnal knowledge of a 13-year-old, four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of the use of electronic means to solicit a minor.
On Wednesday, Stafford authorities received information that a 13-year-old female Stafford resident had had sex with Mejia several times over the last few months. He was an acquaintance of a friend of the teen's family, police said.
The two had sex at Mejia's residence, according to police.
During the investigation, a female Stafford deputy gained information that led her to an Internet site that Mejia used. The deputy then assumed the role of a 13-year-old female —not the 13-year-old that Mejia had had sex with — and contacted Mejia, police said.
After numerous on ine conversations Mejia set up a meeting with the deputy, believing that she was a 13-year-old female. They were to meet in the Red Oak Drive/Courthouse Road area of Stafford, police said.
On Wednesday at about 11:15 a.m., Mejia arrived there and was taken into custody without incident.
Mejia is currently incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond. Additional charges are possible, police said.
