The Bluemont Concert Series will present bluegrass artists Laurie Lewis & the Right Hands on July 25 for the third of six Friday evening concerts in Culpeper. All Friday evening concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. on the Old County Courthouse lawn at West Davis Street in downtown historic Culpeper.

Historic Mount Vernon will celebrate George Washington’s contribution to America’s freedom on July 4th with its annual event “An American Celebration.”

A jazz concert will be held at Griffin Bookshop and Coffee Bar in at 732 Caroline St. in downtown Fredericksburg from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Events happening in the area.

The Hartwood Winery will be offering wine tastings in recognition of spring, from noon to 4 p.m. In addition to wine, hor d’oeuvres will be served and Gerry Maddox will perform live music.
