Boyd commissioned into U.S. Army
Daniel A. Boyd, of Stafford, received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a minor in mathematics from Virginia Military Institute in Lexington. Boyd was also commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He is a graduate of Colonial Forge High School and the son of Rosa and Reinhard Boyd of Stafford.
Patoka graduates with honors
Joshua M. Patoka, of Stafford, received a bachelor’s degree in international studies, with distinction, and a minor in modern languages. He is a graduate of North Stafford High School and the son of Mark and Wendy Patoka of Stafford.
Raferty makes honors list
Davis Scott Raferty has been named to the Dean’s List at the University of Wyoming. To receive the honor students must have earned a 3.25 or better grade point average. Located in Laramie, Wyo., the school is the state’s only four-year higher education institution.
Yarrington awarded master’s degree
Debra Yarrington, of Fredericksburg, has graduated with a master’s of fine arts degree in ceramics from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pa.
