North Stafford graduate reports for Corps duty
Marine Corps 2nd Lt. William M. Barrett, son of Catherine M. and Michael W. Barrett of Stafford, recently reported for duty with Training Squadron 21, Naval Air Station, Kingsville, Texas.
Barrett is a 2002 graduate of North Stafford High School in Stafford and joined the U.S. Marine Corps in August 2006. He is a 2006 graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, having earned a bachelor of arts degree.
Nunerley graduates from basic training at Ft. Jackson
Army Pvt. Veronica Nunerley has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, in Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, Nunerley studied the Army mission, history, tradition core values, physical fitness and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training. She learned drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
She is the daughter of Meta Thomas of Tamis Court in Stafford and a 2006 graduate of North Stafford High School.
