Brooke Point High
The Brooke Point Field Hockey Team’ will host a gift card Bingo on June 4. Proceeds will go toward field hockey practice goals and goalie equipment. Ferry Farm Elementary
On May 15, Ferry Farm fourth- and fifth- graders put on a Spring Musical Concert, under the direction of music teacher Susan Montrief.
On May 28, the Reading Center gave out the last of the Virginia Readers’ Choice certificates of participation for this year. Student names were also pulled during announcements from the “red VRC bucket” for those students to attend the Annual VRC Sleepover in the library on June 6. Students who read 10 books had their name put into the bucket once, and those who had read all 20 books had their name in twice.
The Ferry Farm Drama Club will be performing the play, “School House Rock Live, Junior!“ on June 5 in the school cafeteria on the stage. Performances will be at 9:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. for the students and at 7 p.m. for the parents and community.

Rock Hill Elementary
Da*Sha Loney and Jamdy Gonzalez-Martine are recent Artists of the Week, chosenby school art teacher Nicole Brooks.
Field Day will be held June 12. Volunteers are needed.
Rockhill will celebrate Custodian Appreciaton Day on June 6 in honor of the school’s custodial staff lead by head custodian Jimmy Seay.

Kate Waller Barrett Elementary
Musician Bill Wellington visited last week and presented his show “Radio Woof” during school hours. Students and their families were also able to attend a free evening concert. He performed songs from his cd collection and had groups of students participate in a few of his songs. Bill Wellington is a storyteller, folk musician and songwriter and shares folklore with students through “Radio Woof”.

Winding Creek Elementary
The second-grade students traveled to Washington, D.C. on a field trip to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.
School Nurse Frances Wali, announced the winner of the WCES Lost Tooth Contest. The winners were the girls losing 98 teeth during the school year topping the boys who lost 90 teeth.
