Soldier with local ties set to deploy

A soldier with local ties to the Fredericksburg area has been mobilized and prepared for a future deployment that will take him to Iraq.
Army Specialist Alan E. Coffman will be sent to an undisclosed Iraqi location, according to an Army press release. The soldier will join forces already on the ground assigned to Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Coffman is a psychological operations specialist and a member of the 312th Psychological Operations Company based out of Upper Marlboro, Md.
He is the son of Fredericksburg residents Gary and Margi Coffman.
