FREDERICKSBURG — A memorial service will be held Friday in Fredericksburg for a fallen U.S. Airman who died in Iraq.
Tech Sgt. Anthony Capra, 31, of Hanford, Calif. died April 9 in the area Golden Hills, Iraq; from wounds he suffered after unsuccessfully trying to diffuse an improvised explosion device, according to a released statement from Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.
At the time of his death Capra was assigned to Detachment 63, 688 Armament Systems Squadron, Indian Head City, Md.
From 2003 to 2007 Capra was assigned to Eglin AFB, where he was the recipient of a Bronze Star in May 2006.
Services for the airman will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Grace Church of Fredericksburg.
The Capra family, residing in Stafford County, requests that any flowers, cards and condolences be sent to the Capra Family, c/o the Grace Church of
Fredericksburg for the memorial service at the Grace Church of Fredericksburg, 1141 Heatherstone Drive, Fredericksburg, Va. 22407.
An interment service is planned at Arlington National Cemetery at 3 p.m. on Friday as well.
