CERT class to help train citizens to respond to emergency situations

STAFFORD — The Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), which are a part of the Stafford Fire and Rescue Department, will be commencing their annual lessons on October 19.
The courses will cover standard emergency and first-aid procedures such as putting out small fires, searching for and rescuing victims safely and treating major medical killers such as opening blocked airways, controlling bleeding and treating for shock.
The courses are free to anyone in Stafford over 18 years of age and will be held at the Training & Logistics Center near the county courthouse along U.S. 1.
