Boys and girls club to hold fundraiser

FREDERICKSBURG — The Fredericksburg Regional Boys and Girls Club plans to give away $10,000 at its Fourth Annual Reverse Raffle Fundraiser. A drawing will be held Nov. 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the University of Mary Washington’s Seacobeck Hall in Fredericksburg.

Tax-deductible tickets cost $100 with plans for 249 tickets to be sold. 

There will be a silent auction, along with complimentary beverages and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets can be purchased at the Boys and Girls Club, 200 Gunnery Road, Room 16. For more information call the club at (540) 368-9531 or email .

Bookmobile schedule set

STAFFORD — During the week of Oct. 13-17, the Central Rappahannock Regional Library Bookmobile will visit Stafford County. On Oct. 14, it will stop at His Precious Children from 10 to 10:30 a.m., the YMCA from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., the Gardens of Stafford from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m., Agape Preparatory Academy from 2:45 until 3:30 p.m., and the Brooke Post Office from 4 to 4:30 p.m.

On Oct. 16, it will visit Richland Preschool from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. and Hartwood Post Office from 10:45 until 11:30 a.m. On Oct. 17, the bookmobile will arrive at Stafford Head Start at 9:45 a.m. and remain until 11:30 a.m.

Community clothing day to be held

STAFFORD — Mount Ararat Baptist Church will be holding a Community Clothing Giveaway on Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Refreshments will be served, and everyone in the community is welcome to come and take what they need. Mt. Ararat is located at 65 Toluca Rd in Stafford. For more information, visit mtararat.org.

Historical Society to hold musical event

STAFFORD — On Oct. 16, the Stafford County Historical Society will be holding part two of Music in Stafford. The theme of the evening will be music from the Civil War through World War II.  Former Stafford Sheriff Ralph Williams and his bluegrass band will perform. Al Conner will have a power point presentation of what was happening in Stafford during that time period. The meeting will be held in the Stafford County Board of Supervisors’ chambers at 7:30 p.m. The public is welcome.
