Alzheimer’s group offers fall programs
FREDERICKSBURG — The Alzheimer’s Association in Fredericksburg will offer Dementia 101, a series designed to give family caregivers basic knowledge of caring for someone with memory impairment. On Sept. 18, the association offers “Stress and the Caregiver: How to Cope.” On Oct. 2, it offers “Nutrition: It’s More Than Just a Meal,” and on Oct. 16, “Activities in the Home.” There is a $20 fee per person. City museum offers free admission
FREDERICKSBURG — FromAug. 30 through Sept. 7, the Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center will offer free admission to visitors. This is the last chance to see “John Adams Elder: Fredericksburg’s Artist of the Civil War” before the exhibition closes. The museum will then close for seven weeks of minor renovations. TheMarket Square will stay active during the renovations, with concerts and a moving sale. The Town Hall will reopen on Oct. 25 with a new temporary exhibition, “Fredericksburg Then and Now.”

Bookmobile releases schedule for county
STAFFORD — The Central Rappahannock Regional Library Bookmobile will be in Stafford County from Sept. 9 through Sept. 11. On Sept. 9, it will visit His Precious Children from 10 to 10:30 a.m., the YMCA from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Gardens of Stafford from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m., Agape Prep. Academy from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. and Brooke Post Office from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. On Sept. 10, it will visit Stafford Children of America from 9:30 to 10 a.m. and Blake Farm Day School from 10:30 to 11:15 p.m.; and on Sept. 11, it will visit the Fredericksburg Children’s Academy from 9:30 to 10 a.m. For information, call (540) 372-1144.
Mount Vernon sells whiskey sets
MOUNT VERNON — Historic Mount Vernon currently has special commemorative whiskey sets available for sale. The set includes a shot glass and a 50-milliliter bottle of whiskey consisting of 11 different whiskey brands blended and aged at Mount Vernon in 2006.
The gift sets are $25 and are available for purchase in person with a valid ID at the Shops at Mount Vernon or George Washington’s Distillery.
