STAFFORD — There are four days scheduled on the calendar ahead when Stafford and Fredericksburg residents can recycle their electronics.
The Rappahannock Regional Solid Waste Management Board (R-Board) says that these residents can use this opportunity to dispose of used electronics in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Stafford and Fredericksburg residents may drop off their old electronics at the Regional Landfill, located at 489 Eskimo Hill Road, in Stafford, on Sept. 17, Sep. 18, Sept. 19, and Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
They have to show proof or residency in order to be able to drop off the items.
Accepted items will include:
• Televisions
• CPUs, computer monitors, laptops and external drives
• Printers, scanners and copiers
• Computer wiring, cables, uninterrupted power supplies and accessories
• Gaming systems
• Fax machines
• Stereos and speakers
• VCRs, cameras and camcorders
The local electronics recycling program began in 2003. Since then, the R-Board has collected more than 603,000 pounds of electronics.
