The Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (FAMPO) will host a series of public information meetings throughout the region on Oct. 14, 15, 21, 22 and 23. These open-house format meetings are a part of developing the region’s 2035 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). The LRTP projects 20 to 30 years into the future and is used by transportation officials to prioritize the spending of transportation dollars for improvement projects including: bicycle, pedestrian, freight, public transportation, ridesharing/vanpooling and roadway facilities.
Public input is needed in order to develop a plan that reflects the choices and desires of residents, businesses and visitors. Five community meetings have been scheduled to get feedback on various elements of the plan.
The Oct. 14 meeting will take place in Stafford at the Courthouse Community Center, located at 29 Stafford Ave. The meeting will be held in Room A.
The Oct. 23 meeting will be held at FAMPO in Fredericksburg at 406 Princess Anne St. in the Robert C. Gibbons Conference Room.
Other area meetings will also be beld.
