The popular MTV television show “Total Request Live” came to a halt Sunday, stopping music-loving teenagers in their tracks.

The show went out with a bang, however, throwing its own celebration, “Total Finale Live,” as a sendoff for itself, after 10 years entertaining a range of viewers on the air. With a focus on younger viewers, the show drew musical recording artists over the last decade, as well as some actors and celebrities.

“Total Request Live” aired on weekday afternoons and allowed viewers to request their own songs, as well as call in and comment on songs playing, and talk to guests visiting the show. At various times, Carson Daly hosted the show, and came to be the most popular host. It was also hosted by Damien Fahey and Lyndsey Rodrigues.

According to a release from the MTV show site, “Total Request Live” was the place to be if you wanted to get a glimpse of superstars greeting screaming fans inside MTV’s New York studios and out in Times Square.”

“Total Finale Live” on Sunday looked back at more than 2,000 shows, guests, videos and performances. It also had some of the biggest celebrities on board, including Beyonce, Miley Cirus, Good Charlotte’s Benji and Joel Madden, Hillary Duff, 50 Cent, The Backstreet Boys, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris and Nelly.
