WOODBRIDGE - A little more than 30 Latin America nationals are undergoing removal proceedings following raids at two work sites in the Manassas area early Monday morning.

Authorities from U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement arrested 34 men at work sites on administrative charges of being in the country illegally, said ICE spokeswoman Ernestine Fobbs.

The men, who worked for CMC Concrete Construction, 8577 Sudley Road, are from Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica and El Salvador, Fobbs said.

No charges have been placed against the owners of the construction company, according to ICE.

A woman who answered the phone at CMC on Tuesday said the company is not commenting on the case.

Fobbs said the two search warrants executed in connection with the operation were under seal and she could not comment on why or how long CMC had been under investigation.

"At this time the investigation is specifically centered around the individuals that we did arrest," she said. "That's all we can say at this time."
