Boy assulted, mp3 player stolen

STAFFORD — Four local males were arrested following a robbery near Village Parkway on April 29, reported Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Bill Kennedy on May 1.

The victim, a 15-year-old male, reported that he was approached from behind by two black males and asked for the time. He look down at his mp3 player when one of the males hit him repeatedly in the face and took the audio device from him, according to a police report.

The two got into a four-door sedan and fled the premises.

Onsite was an off-duty police officer from another jurisdiction who talked to the victim and got the license plate number from the fleeing sedan.

The car was seen headed down Truslow Road and stopped at Poplar and Kellogg Mill Road. They were taken into custody.

Arrested were two adults charged with accessory to robbery: Abraham Bengura, 18, of Wells Road and Travis Williams, 18, of Ridgecrest Court. Also charged was a 16-year-old male for robbery, grand larceny and assault, and one 17-year-old for accessory to robbery.

The adults were placed in Rappahannock Regional Jail with no bond. The two juveniles were held for a hearing.

The victim was reported to be in good health after the attack.

Man. 19, charges with assualt

GARRISONVILLE — Deputy Jim Kingman was dispatched to an incident at the 1500 block of Providence Street where a man had been assaulted, reported Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Office Bill Kennedy on Monday.

When Kingman arrived he saw two females and one male leaving an apartment. He told them to stop and return to the apartment.

The two females ran back in but the male resisted. He attempted to push past the deputies and was ordered once again to return to the apartment.

Once again, he refused and began cursing, according to the police report. He was told he was being detained and ordered to put his hands behind his back. He finally did so, but only after more resistant behavior.

Inside, the victim was found, with a laceration across the head. He was transported to Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg after identifying the detained male as his assailant.

Joe Powers, 19, of no fixed address, was charged with obstruction of justice with force, assault and battery, and trespassing. He was incarcerated under no bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
