Man caught with stolen merchandise

STAFFORD — Terrell Wilson, 25, of Long Branch Way in Fredericksburg, was asleep in his car wearing only a black T-shirt on the side of U.S. 1 at about 5:30 a.m. on May 25, reported Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Bill Kennedy on Tuesday.
A deputy stopped and asked if he was OK, and Wilson replied that he was.

The deputy noted a great deal of merchandise in the car: Wal-mart bags, baseball caps, clothes on hangers. When asked where he got all the merchandise, Wilson replied that his mother bought it for him to resell.

The deputy obtained Wilson’s mother’s phone number, and called to verify the story. The number was a fictitious one. He obtained the correct one and spoke to Wilson’s mother, who said she knew nothing about the clothes.

The deputy returned to Wilson, who had since changed his clothes. He now wore a white T-shirt, blue jacket, shorts and had some shoes on. The shoes still had store tags on them.

Wilson was confronted with that information but changed his story, saying that his friends got him the clothes and he was just trying to sell them, according to
a police report.

He was charged with possession of stolen property and incarcerated in the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Maryland fugitive arrested, jailed

STAFFORD — A Maryland fugitive was arrested and incarcerated on the evening of May 24 as a result of a traffic check by Stafford deputy Scott Myers, reported Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Bill Kennedy on Tuesday.

Myers ran a check on the license plates of a Plymouth van and found they should be on a Crown Victoria. He pulled the man over.
The driver, Cleveland Cosom, 21, of Milton Avenue in Baltimore, Md., replied that the plates had been switched recently at a DMV.

That was not the case. In fact, it was found that Cosom had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a cocaine charge in Maryland. His driver’s license was suspended in Virginia, also.

He was charged with driving while suspended and held on the Maryland charge as well.

He was placed in the Rappahannock Regional Jail with no bond.

Man charged after car collision

STAFFORD — Mark Faulhaber, 28, of Oak Court in Stafford, hit another car twice on May 25, reported Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Bill Kennedy on Tuesday.

The complainant reported that Faulhaber had rear-ended him while driving out of Stafford Marketplace. The complainant followed him until he could pull up beside him. When he did, he told Faulhaber that he had hit him. Faulhaber seemingly agreed to pull over.

As he did, he hit the complainant again, this time in the passenger door, according to a police report, which states that Faulhaber got out of his car, yelling.

When Stafford deputy Angelo Irizarry arrived, Faulhaber stated that his girlfriend was driving and once they collided with the complainant’s car, she ran away from the scene.

Not so, replied the complainant and his passenger. Not only was Faulhaber driving, but he had a beer in his hand when he came to a stop.

A search of Faulhaber’s car turned up some marijuana and a “couple of pills in a pillbox,” said Kennedy.

Faulhaber was charged with drunk in public, driving under the influence, third offense, obstruction of justice, felony hit and run, possession of marijuana, open container of alcohol and driving while revoked/DUI related.

He was incarcerated in the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Man leaves stolen car at crash scene

STAFFORD — Darius Robinson, 26, of Francis Court in Stafford, ran a stolen car into a telephone pole on Joshua Road and left the scene on the afternoon of May 24, reported Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Bill Kennedy on Tuesday.

As he left, he was seen with a beer can in his hand, according to one witness. The car’s windows were shattered and the car keys, still in the car. The keys “smelt heavily of alcoholic beverage,” said Kennedy.

He was reported later to be attempting to open car doors on St. Roberts Drive. He reportedly got into one of them, moved around in the car, and then left. He was picked up and taken to the crime scene where he admitted to stealing the car.

He was charged with driving under the influence, grand larceny, attempted grand larceny, leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a revoked license.
He was incarcerated in the Rappahannock Regional Jail with no bond.
