STAFFORD — Stafford County Crime Solvers is now offering a reward up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest or indictment regarding vandalism in Stafford County.

The windows to 10 trash trucks belonging to Shifflett’s Trash Service were broken out April 4, causing $7,000 worth of damage, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred in a lot located at 66 Le Way Drive in South Stafford. In addition to the trucks, a police report indicates that shots were fired into a personal vehicle belonging to an employee of the trash service.

After the incident, Eugene “Bubba” Shifflett moved his trucks from the lot to his Rock Hill area home, for security reasons. He has since moved them back, and said he is keeping a vigilant watch on his property.

“We’re installing more security cameras and lights in the yard,” said Shifflett.

Shifflett also noted that there has been an increased police presence near the lot. He admits however, “the police can’t be there all of the time.”

Crime Solvers is also requesting the public’s help in a separate incident, where on April 14, the Forbes St. Handy Mart Deli in south Stafford was robbed at gunpoint.

The victim reported that a black male approached the register with a gun and demanded all of the money in the register. The clerk complied, emptying the cash drawer. The suspect then left through the front door and headed in the direction of Falmouth Elementary School, according to police.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall to 5 feet 7 inches tall, and 150 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a grey jacket, black mask, black pants and displayed a gun, according to police.

Crime Solvers is asking anyone with information on these crimes to call (540) 658-4450.
