STAFFORD — Stafford County Public Schools has received 2008 On-Time Graduation Rates for the school division and each of its five high schools.
According to the Virginia Department of Education, Stafford’s schools have an 84 percent on-time graduation rate for 2008.
“Stafford County’s on-time graduation rate compares quite favorably to school divisions throughout Virginia…” said Christopher Quinn, assistant superintendent for instruction.
The rates for the individual high schools are as follows:
Brooke Point High School 78 percent
Colonial Forge High School 88 percent
Mountain View High School 89 percent
North Stafford High School 85 percent
Stafford High School 84 percent
The Virginia On-Time Graduation Rate is a graduation rate based on individual student-level data tracked over time that accounts for student mobility and retention patterns.
The 2008 rates are based on students who entered the ninth grade for the first time during the 2004-05 school year. The Virginia Department of Education will also calculate a new cohort dropout rate for the 2007-08 school year and expects to report this information early in 2009.
