STAFFORD — An escalating feud between two rival garbage disposal companies — Stafford-based Shifflett’s Trash Service and Davis Disposal of Spotsylvania — has resulted in one man being arrested, and another left hoping someone does not get killed in an escalating dispute.

STAFFORD — At the April 15 meeting of the Stafford County Board of Supervisors, the Secondary Six-Year Improvement Program — a six-year plan for secondary road improvements in Stafford County — was presented by Transportation Administrator Fulton deLamorton. 

NORTH STAFFORD — A major retail store in the area says it wants to help relieve some of the commuter-parking burden in Stafford County.
Bill Dawson, Target store manager at Stafford Marketplace, said the store has an open parking lot on the side of its building that is rarely used, and would be an ideal commuter parking area. 

STAFFORD — A former University of Mary Washington President has been arrested in Maryland on his third drunken driving charge in a year.
William John Frawley, 54, of Chevy Chase, Md., was arrested April 10 for allegedly attempting to drive his car under the influence of alcohol, according to court documents.

A terrifying flock of tornadoes hit Virginia Monday, striking close to where a twister killed four people in the Tri-Cities area 14½ years ago.
