I’m certain Mr. Blankenship managed to raise the ire of many Christians in his last column and I am one of them. Although, there isn’t the space or time for me to detail his commentary’s belittling of the Christian faith, I would hope other Christian believers would take some time also to comment on his article. However, I do want to ensure Mr. Blankenship that Catholics do not “worship” the Pope. They never have and no “Catholic” ever will because if one ever does, that person would cease being a Catholic. We Catholics “worship” Almighty God, alone. We revere the Pope as the visible head of the Church on earth. We do not worship him. I recommend Mr. Blankenship refer to catholic.com/library/church_papacy.asp for some enlightenment on Catholic beliefs concerning the Pope.
