We need to act locally

The Stafford County planners don’t seem to understand that to solve “global warming” all need to act locally. How does continuing destruction of the remaining woodlands of Stafford County along U.S. 1 and Garrisonville Road and elsewhere serve to do anything but increase the concrete and asphalt footprint of the area both of which retain heat much longer than the green earth God gave us? The cycle of out-of-control development yields only more population, more traffic and more discontent. What will be left of nature in the area for our children to explore? Or does only profit matter? Those recently elected to the board of supervisors ran on platforms of controlled growth. Yet, no control is in sight. We are long past due for space preservation laws in this county. I beg all to remember this come next election.
